Can a bad breakup make you depressed?

It's true that depression does not have a single cause, it can be a combination of thing and events. In my experience, the loss of a loved one is the leading cause of depression.
When someone that used to be an integral part of one's life is no longer there, there is a high chance the affected person will fall into depression.

Do you agree?

I have come to understand that a really bad breakup can make one depressed. If you have someone that you have made a focal point of your life, breaking up with them can be disastrous.
This can eventually lead to depression for some people. This includes divorce in the marriage as well.

What do you think?

Yes, it's possible for a breakup in relationship to push someone into depression. This happens often when the relationship was one sided and when the other nonchalant partner ends the relationship, the other person will be broken.

I don't attach myself too much to anyone in this life. It's only my family that I love so much that if we are to have a serious problem, I would be devastated.

This is why I don't feel ready to commit myself to any woman in a relationship now because so many ladies out there doesn't know what loyalty means in relationship.

I agree that losing someone close can be a major trigger for depression. Grief can be overwhelming, especially when that person was a big part of your life. I have been there before and I won't wish to meet that point again.

I'll be pained when I broke up with someone I love so much but for me to be the one who broke up, it means they did something which is unforgettable and unforgivable.
